Huge Update!

Hello everybody! There has been a lot going on lately, figured I had better post an update so I can fill all of you in. First off, if you explored my website, you have seen the cover of my newest novel, “Tesoro”! I would love to hear what everyone thinks about it - do you love it or hate it? I’m sure once you read the novel you will understand the cover artwork better, but I’m curious as to what everyone thinks about the dark red. Personally I am loving it! I think it is a definite eye catcher.

Secondly, I’m working hard on trying to get my first novel, “Mia Amata”, on the shelves in Barnes and Noble stores. This is a time-consuming process as I have to reach out to managers of each store (at least to start) and get them to order a few copies. I was in Texas visiting my daughter and her awesome family and we went to the local B&N there. There is the possibility of doing a book signing there, but if I do that I’m going to want to do more than one store. It is a long trip just for a one-day book signing. Fingers crossed, maybe I can get something to happen there.

Another thing that I am really excited about is that when I was in Texas, I was contacted by a New York production company that wants to talk to me about doing some sort of production of my first novel! I did speak with the company on the phone, but I was in the Dallas airport and my phone is temporarily out of commission, so hopefully I can talk to them this next week or so and see what they have to offer me. I am super excited for this. The company is legit, but they are a young company and do not have a lot of work out there yet. Being a new author, I’m not opposed to working with a new company!

Other than that, I’m working hard to get “Mia Amata” noticed more, working with Austin Macauley Publishers to get my second novel “Tesoro” published (date for publication coming soon) and I am writing a third novel. I’m about six chapters into the third novel, which is not related to the first two. I do have an idea for a third novel in the “Mia Amata” series, but I haven’t decided if I want to pursue that route or not.

If only I could win the lottery so I can stay at home and write! Unfortunately, I have to continue working so my time I can devote to writing and promoting my novels is limited. To my fellow coworkers - no worries, I’m not leaving for the foreseeable future!!!

I have finally gotten a chance to read someone else’s books so that feels good. I love to read and have missed doing so. There are just not enough hours in the day!!! I read Uketsu’s book “Strange House”. This is a Japanese author and the book was translated to English. I read it in one day, it is a very easy read and I enjoyed it, although it is a bit creepy! A writer is asked to investigate a house that a friend is considering purchasing when he discovers something odd on the blue prints. I want to check out Uketsu’s other book, “Strange Pictures” soon.

I also finished “Not Quite Dead Yet” by Holly Jackson. My daughter read this in two days, took me a little longer due to traveling home from Texas and going back to work, but I recommend it as well. A young woman is attacked in her home. She survives, only to discover that she has a few days left to live due to her wounds from the attack. She leaves the hospital and works to solve the mystery of who killed her.

Lastly, I am working on reading Robert Galbraith’s book “Troubled Blood”. This is actually JK Rowling’s series of books written under a pen name. I came across this one at work one day, where we could share books with others. I realize that I am reading this out of order, it is actually the 5th Cormoran Strike mystery series, but I am enjoying it very much and will probably go back and read all of the others in time.

Well, that is everything I have to share for today! I hope you continue to follow my and keep up with my novels and progress I am making. I am so happy that I am now able to enjoy writing, I wish I would have started a lot sooner but at least I can say goal accomplished! Thank you for sharing my happiness and I hope you all keep -

Enjoying the Read!

Kellie
